some things

I am sad. A childhood friend killed herself this week - she suffered from depression. If you feel like killing yourself please contact the suicide hotline because somebody loves you.
I am sad - people I love voted against my rights. Moving away from the sad things.

I was the lucky recipient of a Wisdom with Needle and Thread RAK - I am a lucky girl!!
Beautiful hand painted napkin rings - thread - a pattern and fabulous fabric!! Thanks so much Kim!!
I have a finish - actually two.
Gardener Goode Witch - With Thy Needle
I fell in love with this witch - her hooked nose and her hat. I made another one to make into a bag!!
then I made matching little bags - to carry around my specialty threads

which I have been putting onto clothes pins - I saw a designer do this but for the life of me I can't remember who. I think it's so cute!!
Scott and I went to Multnomah Falls this weekend - there is a historic highway and 11 (I think) falls on this road.
Multnomah Falls

Latourell Falls
see the man in the picture above - we went up there - it was so close the spray was making water drip off my chin and eyelashes and all I could do was stand there and laugh. It was wonderful

Vista House

Columbia River
We stopped by Edelweiss Deli - oh my I love that place!!
Scott has an intestinal infection - he is a copycat. He is finally feeling better - last day of pills today. My mom also has an infection - they just want to be cool like me.... she had to do two rounds of meds - stubborn little thing. That is all the things I have to say. I hope you are having a good week and thanks for stopping by!!

  4. So sorry about your friend Jamie. That must be a hard thing to deal with. I love the falls. Can you believe we have lived out here for 13 years and never made that trip to see the falls. People have come to visit us and then made that trip. I think a Spring road trip would be good. Your garden witch is delightful. I'm so impressed with all your bags. I'm just a stitch and frame person I guess.

  5. So sorry to hear about your friend. I've lost several friends to depression over the years and it breaks my heart. The falls look amazing! Love your stitching and the bags you made are great. I have to many specialty threads to put them on clothespins, but I love the idea.

  6. Sorry about your friend. Depression is horrible. Nice finishes, love your bags. Zippers are intimidating to me! Nice gifts and a wonderful road trip, so much water!

  7. Sorry to read about your friend. I have lost family member to depression. It is awful to think their last resort is to end it all.
Fantastic stitching & impressive finishes too!!! Those bags look fantastic and I like the idea of the pegs!! Very sophisticated ;) No bobbin for you Missy!

  8. I'm so sorry, Jamie--that must hurt horribly...

I just love your bags--they are so cute and congratulations on being a winner of one of Kim's RAKs! I'm still amazed that she made and sent 60 RAKs this year!!

  10. I think a lot of people are feeling the same way you are now.

We lost a neighbor to depression recently, and it made me think about how hard it is to actually reach out and admit you need help.

I love the stitching bag you made using just the witch, she is perfect and the fabric colors you chose are gorgeous.

I wish my husband and I did more sightseeing trips together, your photos look so pretty.

  11. I'm so sorry for the recent sadness in your life, Jamie. Looks like in the midst of it, you've found some sunshine from a beautiful RAK, sewing up a great project, and a little jaunt out Multnomah Falls way. There's nothing like the view from Vista House. You should make it a point to go frequently!
