A partial finish...

Hello,
I finished the first part of "Song of the Seasons" mystery sampler! I realize not everyone wants to see it -don't want to ruin the fun for anybody. I was going to do a link so if you wanted to skip it you could, but I can't get it to work. If you would like to see it - email me and I will send it. The fabric that came with my kit is darker than the fabric on the pattern. It will be ok, but I think you can tell.
That is all for now! Hope you are sleeping well!

ohhh fun stuff!

Hello!
Remember the perpetual journal I have been working on perpetually (hee hee) Well, I finally found a box at Micheals - it was a set of three with a dreadful picture painted on it. I painted it black.  I was going to do a lace pattern in white but painting is not my metier.  (nice word huh? I heard it in a book I was listening to - Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett)  So, I just put a ribbon around it. Not sure I like the ribbon with button so I put it on with a glue dot so I can take it off if I change my mind...

see the pink ribbon peeking out?

I found the CUTEST paper clips with ribbon on them to hold my place!!
We had a bathroom window replaced. Scott was going to put glass blocks in but then all this Indiana stuff happened.
old wood window with the blinds inside the glass

new vinyl window with privacy glass
We have had two showing appointments but I don't think anybody showed up for the second one - no offers yet. *sigh*
I also finished the third Little Sheep Virtues by Little House Needleworks "Peace" I wish I had tea dyed the off white fabric - I hate it when you get in a project and wish you had done something different! I don't want to restitch three though soooooooo guess I have to live with it.

I also cut out the felt for the pillows for the first 5.  I am now working on "Courage"  and I have everything ready for "Faith" love the little black sheep on that one!!

I came up with a good solution for putting my initials on each piece! I made little felt hearts to put on the back. I stitched J 13 in thread that matches the color of the pillow! It's all still pieces right now, but see......

Look what I got today....

I already have the first two stitches in!! I wanted to get the start point measured because there was an issue with it - don't use the arrows for the center. It's exciting -my first mystery sampler!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a lovely day!

Fun weekend part deux

Hello again,
So, I'm sure my mother wont appreciate a picture or two here but they made me laugh so I am including them - I love you mom!! We ate lunch at a place called Culvers - I guess they are all over but ours is pretty new. Best custard mmmmmm! I told her to lean in for this picture but I got it at a silly point - looks like she is photo bombing the ice cream - oh I laughed!!
I love you mom!! We went letterboxing and of course I can't tell you where but my sweet mother left the door open on the car - funny! Thank goodness we were in the middle of nowhere and so nothing was missing - crazy woman!!
We had to walk about a half a mile to the box location and there were swarms of bugs - so of course I was swinging my arms and carrying on and missed this huge scary snake the first time. On the way back I saw it out of the corner of my eye....
I just about jumped out of my pants - lucky for me it was dead - yikes!!
Next we went to Swetsville Zoo in Timnath CO, which happens to be on the Roadside America site (if you have not visited this - you should!! At least check the fun things in your own city) We check this site before we leave on trips because it has zany places to go - like Swetsville Zoo. It's art made from machinery, car parts and scrap metal!

We had a pretty full day!! It was nice to be busy doing fun things. Hope you enjoyed the pictures!!
Have a good rest of the week!

Fun weekend

Hello folks,
I hope you all had a nice weekend. I had a nice day with my mom. I miss my husband a ton and wish he had been with us. Mom and I started out at the Longmont farmer's market - no pictures but we had some delicious snacks. It's not very big - just a few stalls. Mom bought some tomato plants.
Next we went to the Berthoud quilt show. It was lovely!! There was a nice breeze and the quilts were hung up in the shade of the old trees - wonderful!!

I love the way they displayed them - like they were on a clothesline. It was the perfect amount of quilts. I'm going to do this in two posts because I have pictures of another place we went,
See you tomorrow!!
